Digi-Pak update!
We now have several different ideas for our digi-pak. I have mainly created them using my mac and Photoshop software. However the group have helped to contribute to composition, drawings and assist me in creating the panels for the digi-pak. Laura researched further into digi-paks so we were able to create layouts to determine which best fitted our genre. Laura uploaded these.
Green Screen!
Today we filmed and expanded on knowledge on green screening. We filmed the shot we wanted for our music video; Laura 'on the front' of an NME magazine. We used the NME magazine as it is the most likely to feature our music genre, therefore it would be seen and read by our target audience!

Another filming schedule!
We have spoken to our media technician and booked the equipment we need to finish filming on Thursday the 11th of February. To ensure we stay on track and organised we devised another filming schedule. The original written schedule can be found here.

Digi Pak-Layout
Originally we decided we were going to use a basic digi pak lay-out (four panels), however we gained alot more ideas and decided we would use the layout above. This allows us to use more images and add more information to the digi-pak, as we have alot more space. We were able to get more people involved, adding their versions of 'carpet monsters' to make the digi-pak more fun, also to get it more well known. This is the layout we decided to use but original ideas can be found here.
We decided to use a digi-pak as they are more cost effective and eco-friendly. Our genre is 'indie'. This generates from the term 'Independant label'. These bands were generally bands that didn't realise CD's, they would perform their music live. If they were to produce a CD it would be in the form of a digi-pak as they did not have the money for a CD production.
Digi-paks are becoming to become more popular, for example Biffy Clyro and Muse have both recently released a digi-pak.

Digi-Pak layout research!
Whilst I played around with ideas on photoshop, Laura conducted Digi-pak research for me to consider when designing.

Reflective Comment..
By division of the group we have been able to push our productions forward. We have equally distributed work between the four of us to carry out. As we have decided to make a digi-pak me and Laura are going to be working within that area. As I am the photoshop expert within the group I played around with images and ideas for the digi-pak whilst Laura research more information on them. Alex and Rachel worked the editing of the video, fixing any technical problems we had been faced with. They began to match up film with the story board to bring the story board to life in the music video. Video editing and photoshop editing came along way today keeping us on schedule for finishing.

Subsidiary Tasks
We have decided to do a digipak, either as a DVD or CD cover, as one of our subsidiary tasks.
We felt we needed to know more about digipaks so Rachel carried out some research to boost our knowledge on them.

Update.
We are having difficulties with the audio and getting it to work on Final Cut. We have been using a copy of the song off a CD, but have found we need a copy of it on the software.
Uploading Film!
When trying to upload into Final Cut we had problems. Within our first lesson we had already found Final Cut was not working on the school Mac Computers. However we further knowledge on I Movie we decided to upload to that software and convert it into Final Cut once it has been uploaded. Once the footage had uploaded onto I Movie we went to speak to the technician, as well as working out ourselves how to convert the final to Final Cut. Luckily come our next lesson we found Final Cut software was once again available and we could start looking through the footage. It is a confidence booster knowing when facing a problem, sometimes guidance can help for a push in the right direction!
